Homophobia

Homophobia is the irrational fear and/or loathing of gay persons. It is also an industry in the United States, closely aligned with the popular set of religious delusions called Christianity.  When homophobia is justified by cherry picking ancient fairy tales written by a primitive genocidal warring tribe we call it the Sanctity of Bigotry.

Every phony TV evangelist in America has learned that he can cash in on the inherent queasiness many people feel around the subject of sexual identity.

One of the most frequently cited justifications for the endless campaigns of malicious slander conducted by Fundamentalist hate-mongers against gay people is a reference to homosexuality in the book of Leviticus, a part of their ancient fairy tale book called the Bible.

Big machines are used during cherry harvesting time  to let workers reach the delicious fruit on the trees, these machines are called cherry pickers. During the off-season Christians use these cherry pickers to find little tidbits of psychotic rants in their Bible that align perfectly with their prejudices.  For example, they hate gay people, so they pick out a bit about gay sex and pretend it is very important, or that it has some kind of bearing on life in the 21st century.  But the same book of their Bible indicates that God Hates Brats, God Hates Barbers, God Hates Crustaceans, God Hates Mixed Fibers, God Hates Pork and God Hates Vaginas.

We do not hear about ballot initiatives sponsored by Christian groups that would mandate the death penalty for children that talk back to their parents, yet that is in Leviticus.

We do not hear of Christian groups trying to shut down barber shops for cutting the corners of men's beards, or shaving the sides of their heads, but that is in Leviticus.

We do not hear of Christian groups trying to shutdown seafood restaurants that serve clams, but that is in Leviticus.

We do not hear of Christian groups trying to shut down Wal*Mart stores that sell mixed-fiber clothing, but that is in Leviticus.

We do hear of Christian groups trying to control women's bodies, in this matter they are consistent, and bigots.

Just say NO to ancient superstitions based on the sociopathic rants of genocidal warring tribes.
